Pharmacists, nurses may have the authority to prescribe medicines: National Medical Commission Bill (NMC bill)
This is true that the Indian healthcare section is hardly dominated by M.B.B.S degree holders. In most of developed countries like Germany, Great Britain, USA etc. pharmacists, nurses can prescribe general medicines.
In the rural area of India, there is no doctors in the hospital. Doctors don't want to go there. So most of the time nurses and pharmacists played the role of a doctor.
So, Govt. should give the authority to prescribe at least general medicines.
National Medical Commission (NMC) Bill may allow pharmacists, nurses to apply for bridge course to start medical practice. Pharmacists, nurses may have the authority to prescribe medicines.
