Pharm.D as Clinical Pharmacist, Drug Information Center in Indian hospitals.
In the 107th meeting in New Delhi, PCI decided and send the application to take approval from the Health Ministry with the demand for starting the job position of clinical pharmacist in every hospital. They have also demanded to start the drug information center in every hospital in India.
PCI already approved that Pharm.D degree holders can use Dr. Prefix before there name.

In most of the developed countries like the USA, Canada, etc. Pharm.D candidates can use Dr. prefix and work as a clinical pharmacist. Similar things going to happen in India.
Purpose of Clinical Pharmacists:

Drug Information Centre:
- Drug-related information for patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- To educate patients about medication using pamphlets, handbill, etc.

- Participating in drug efficiency and cost analysis research.
- To provide more effective and efficient health care service.
