What is pharmacist bridge course?

The Pharmacists of Maharashtra and some other states are want to a pharmacist bridge course to start treatment.

Every day a lot of Indian civilians are dying due to the lack of medical facilities. Especially doctors or physicians.

Why Pharmacists want this course?

Under Ayushman Bharat Yojna (a Govt. of India initiative) the HWCs means the Health and Wellness Centers are established. So there is a lot of vacancy of physicians. (Approx 9000 posts)

The state medical boards already decided to fill up this vacancy by the Ayurvedic and Homeopathic doctors. And the Indian Medical Association already accept this.

The logic of pharmacists:

Mostly in rural village areas, there are no doctors in the medical centers. Most of the times pharmacists are treating the patients as a doctor. But pharmacists have no such right to treat a patient in India.

That's why pharmacists want the right to treat the patients like a physician.

Pharmacists gave some logic to on the demand of the pharmacist bridge course, that is

• Homeopathic and ayurvedic doctors learn pharmacology at a certain limit, but pharmacists learned pharmacology from top to bottom. It means they covered 100% pharmacology.

• Pharmacists are more knowledgeable than medical doctors. A pharmacist can make better medicine prescription than a doctor.

• There are not enough doctors to treat patients. That's why people in rural areas are unable to take medical facilities.

What pharmacists need to learn?

The pharmacists just want the training course to diagnosis a disease. After the diagnosis, they can easily treat those disease using proper medication.

My point of view as a general Indian:

If the bridge course will start, then the rural patients may get more medical facilities than today.

According to my point of view, the Govt. should take a step on this matter. Because the medical service is more important than other things.

I think they should start an entrance examination for pharmacist before the entry of the course and after completing the course they should take an ultimate pass exam to achieve the bridge course certificate to the pharmacists.
